Photo Georgina Jones | Tasseled nudibranch Kaloplocamus ramosus In June last year Georgina and Sharon found one of these nudibranchs on one of the Smitswinkel bay wrecks, and it made the SURG news as it is reported that this is a species "usually dredged or trawled in several hundred meters of water." It seems that this is not always the case, and recently Robert Wilson found one on the Aster at about 25m, while Georgina found two on the Rockeater, slightly deeper. While it may thus be common at much greater depths, it certainly comes up to much shallower reefs, and is most likely to be more widespread than initially thought. |
