Stephanolepis auratus, or Porky. Photos by Dieter Stegemann
Porky Stephanolepis auratus at the wreck of the "Clan Stuart"
Recently seen at Long Beach (see News 18 February), two individuals, of which one a juvenile, were seen at this wreck. Although it is encountered more often, I would still consider it a rare visitor. Its range is described as including False Bay, which the sightings confirm, although it does not seem to be a resident.
