Visit by Dr. Terry Gosliner to Cape Town
Dr. Gosliner, of the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, Dr. Marta Pola, Dr. Angel Valdes and three students visited Cape Town in order to collect nudibranchs for genetic analysis. Dr. Gosliner is the author of "Nudibranchs of Southern Africa - a guide to the opisthobranch molluscs of southern Africa", a guide book well regarded by those interested in South African nudibranchs.
SURG members assisted Dr. Gosliner and his team in collecting specimens.

A very large and unusual Doto from the intertidal zone at Millers Point

Melibe rosea

Another Melibe rosea (Cowled Nudibranchs), which are not often seen by divers, but are common in intertidal pools.

Haminoea alfredensis, also rarely seen by divers but much more common intertidally.
