Robust ghost pipefish Solenostomus cyanopterus
This pipefish is an unusual visitor to Cape waters. In 2005 and 2006 there were several sightings, all at Long Beach. This specimen was seen at A-Frame. The water in False Bay had been warm for some time, so it is likely it swept down the Agulhas current. It was about 6-8 cm long.
