Dendrodoris caesia. This nudibranch has a blueish and pink body, with, as shown, a frilly margin. It can be found in the intertidal boundary to depths of at least 20 m. It feeds on yellow-brown sponge. It ranges from Cape Point to at least Port Elizabeth. Can be exceedingly common along the south coast, but is not very common in Cape Town.
The photo by Ettienne Kotze was taken at Windmill, the photo by Guido Zsilavecz in the Knysna lagoon, where it was quite common. |
