Wanted! This small anemone, we call it the "Dwarf spotted anemone" - generally only a few centimeters across, is most probably an undescribed species. Professor Griffiths from UCT has so far only managed to get one specimen, and would like more. SURG is thus requesting all divers to please inform us where you have seen it (please prove it with a photo though, as there are similar-looking anemones around), so we can build a better picture of where it can be found, allowing UCT to collect more.
The photos shown were taken at various locations: Peter's at Aliwal Shoal and Klein Tafelberg, Guido's at Coral Gardens - it thus has quite a range! On the back of Two Oceans is another photo. As you can see, the anemone can be short and squat, or extend itself tremendously.

Please note: do not collect specimens yourself - the Cape Peninsula is a Marine Protected Area, and it is illegal to do so.
