Frilled nudibranch Leminda millecra Described by Roberta Griffiths in 1985, this species is found generally on deeper reefs further offshore. Locations such Smitswinkel Bay wrecks of the Oratava and Rockeater, as well as Whittle Rock, are indeed good locations to find it. It can also be found on deeper reefs off Castle Rock, and at Coral Gardens, in Rooi Els, on the far side of False Bay. It has been found in Llandudno, on the Atlantic side, as well, but I cannot recall having seen it on that side yet. Specimens have been trawled from deeper waters as far east as Natal.
The species is part of the sub-order Aminacea, and is thus somewhat related to our common gasflame and silver-tip nudibranchs.
