Rippled klipfish Pavoclinus laurentii This species is generally found only from Port Alfred eastwards, so it is slightly out of its range, having been found in Port Elizabeth. It grows to about 13 cm in total length, with the specimen shown estimated at about 8 - 10 cm. The depth it was found in, about 4m, is consistent with its habitat, which extends from tide pools and deeper. Colour is variable, as is often the case with klipfishes, and can range from brown, to red, yellow, green, with a mottled and marbled pattern. |
